Part Time Stock/Customer Service Associate – Paint

The Stock/Customer Service Associate is a part time (approximately 31 hours per week) position supporting the inventory management and customer service of the JAY-K Paint Department.

Duties include:

  • Receive product into inventory
  • Stock store shelving and displays to maximize appeal to customers
  • Take physical count of items, check and mark merchandise
  • Advise customers about products or refer customers to department Associate for product selection

Requirements include:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Availability to work JAY-K store hours including evenings and Saturdays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds on a regular basis

Full-Time Driver

Duties: Drive a company truck throughout the Mohawk Valley region to deliver building materials at customers’ homes and businesses. Select lumber and related building materials and load onto truck for delivery. Provide expertise and customer service at the time of delivery.

This position will be part of JAY-K DOT Driver team and subject to pre-hire and random drug testing.

Requirements include:

  • Valid NYS drivers license (CDL not required).
  • 1 year related driving experience.
  • Vocational training in building related courses or carpentry helpful.
  • Excellent public relations and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work various hours (up to 50 per week), including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Lighting Associate (Full-time)

Design lighting layouts, sell products, and provide excellent service to retail and professional customers. Work with customers to find the best products and solutions for their projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design lighting layouts; display, demonstrate, explain, and sell lighting products in our retail store
  • Visit job sites as necessary
  • Schedule deliveries, and arrange for special orders
  • Provide advice on the use of merchandise, and explain techniques
  • Assist customers in locating other products in store
  • Maintain inventory by stocking shelves and display areas, and notifying buyers when inventories are low

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent required; advanced degree in design-related field preferred
  • Knowledge of light and electrical products and their uses
  • Three or more years of customer service experience
  • Excellent public relations and verbal communication skills.

All F/T JAY-K positions require availability during all store hours (below) including 2 or 3 required Saturdays per month. JAY-K Store Hours: M-F – 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sat. 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. F/T Associates work 38+ hours per week with overtime pay for hours worked over 40/week.
